OTS has a proven track record managing and executing commissioning and start-up activities on and off-shore. OTS is successful in providing operations and maintenance support through commissioning, start-up and into steady state operations. Through these successes OTS has grown a valuable team of skilled technical people and can offer a highly skilled labour force to our clients.

North Atlantic Refining (2011 – Present)

OTS is currently under contract to provide training and maintenance support to North Atlantic Refining for their debottlenecking project in Come by Chance, Newfoundland.

Shell Canada – Muskeg River (2011 – Present)

OTS has provided Shell with an OTS Project Manager to oversee the fabrication of a tailings pond barge. On this project, OTS will be using our experience in fabrication, shipbuilding and project management to ensure that the end product Shell receives will meet all applicable standards and is delivered within budget and time requirements.

Mosaic – Belle Plaine (2009 –  2010) – Definition/Development

OTS was contracted to provide initial definition, planning, execution strategy and budget for Mosaic’s Potash project in Belle Plaine Saskatchewan. Mosaic was provided with an execution strategy, execution plan, man-hour estimate, budget, completed tags list divided by priority and system, complete set of P&ID’s marked up by system, start-up plans and risk assessments for each system along with work packs/dossiers for each discipline.  This portion of the work has been completed.  The project was completed on time and on budget.

As a result of this work OTS has been awarded the execution of the Commissioning and start-up of Mosaic’s plant expansion.

Mosaic – Belle Plaine (2009 – Present) – Commissioning & Start-Up

OTS was contracted to provide the initial Definition Plan, Execution strategy and Budget and was later awarded the Execution Phase for this project.   This project is ongoing.  OTS is currently working closely with the Construction Management Team to insure seamless turnover of systems from construction to commissioning.  OTS will monitor progress against existing man hour estimates and budgets as the project progresses as well as documenting any significant changes in scope affecting schedule and budget.

Trans-Alta – Suncor Project (2008 – Present)

Pre-commissioning, Commissioning and Start-up of a 5kV, 800HP Cameron Turbo Air 3000 Instrument Air Compressor including Dryer and air Receiver and all associated equipment and controls.

Pre-commissioning, Commissioning and Start-up of  Glycol Cooling Fans and all associated equipment and control as well as a new Deaerator system and all associated equipment and controls. OTS also helped to Structure Organizational Document controls consisting of organizing positions relevant to construction turnover.

All Pre-commissioning, Commissioning and Start-up activities for a GE Water Plant to Make Boiler Quality Water consisting of the following:

  • Pre-treatment for the ZeeWeed system
  • ZeeWeed® Trains,
  • Backpulse Equipment,
  • Aeration Equipment,
  • Clean-In-Place (CIP) Equipment
  • Pre-treatment for the Reverse Osmosis  system
  • Reverse Osmosis (RO) Units
  • Softener Units
  • Deaerator

OTS developed all the Start-up and operations procedures for all systems as well as developed all training manuals for the water treatment plant. Besides developing the manuals, OTS also provided the trainers and ran the training courses.

OTS was also responsible for the running and controlling of the permit office for all new Water Treatment Plant activities for both Construction and Commissioning Activities.

EnCana – Deep Panuke (2008 – Present)

OTS is under contract to provide operations support to EnCana for their Deep Panuke offshore platform to be located off the south east coast of Nova Scotia.

ExxonMobil – East Coast Canada (2007 – Present)

OTS is currently under a 5-year long-term contract to provide operations and maintenance support onshore and offshore for ExxonMobil’s operations in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.

Cenovus – Christina Lake (2009)

OTS was contracted to provide initial definition plan, execution strategy and budget for Cenovus’ Christina Lake Phase “C” Expansion project.  Cenovus was provided with an execution strategy, execution plan(P6), man-hour estimate, budget, completed tags list divided by priority and system, complete set of P&ID’s marked up by system, start-up plans and risk assessments for each system.  This project was completed on time and on budget.

Suncor – Syria (2009 – 2010)

OTS has provided Suncor with personnel services for their project in Damascus, Syria.

Nexen – Long Lake Debottlenecking (2008 – 2010)

OTS was contracted to provide the initial Definition Plan, Execution strategy and Budget and was later awarded the Execution Phase for the Long Lake Debottlenecking Project.  During this project OTS worked closely with both the Construction Management Team and Nexen Operations to meet the safety requirements of an operational plant. This was done while still managing the scheduled completions dates for the commissioning and start up of the Debottlenecking Expansion and ensuring seamless handover to Operations with minimal impact to production rates in the existing plant. Throughout this process OTS was responsible to insure strict adherence to the overall budget.  This included developing and overseeing the management of change process (MOC).  We reported and tracked any additional work scope along with reporting existing budgeted items on a bi weekly basis.

Nexen – Long Lake South Phase 1 (2008 – 2009)

The LLSP1 development consists of horizontal well pairs drilled from pads and linked to a Central Processing Facility with steam generation, cogeneration, water treatment, and recycling. Plans are to link the CPF into the existing Long Lake Project using its pipeline and utility corridor. OTS was contracted to provide initial definition plan, execution strategy and budget for the Long Lake South Phase 1 project.  Nexen was provided with an execution strategy, execution plan(P6), man-hour estimate, budget, completed tags list divided by priority and system, complete set of P&ID’s marked up by system, start-up plans and risk assessments for each system.  This project was completed on time and on budget.

Husky Energy (2007 – 2009)

OTS was previously under contract to provide project management personnel for ongoing operations and turn around planning for its Sea Rose FPSO.

Petro Canada (2006 – 2009)

OTS was previously under contract to provide trades, technical personnel and long-term maintenance for operations to Petro Canada for their Terra Nova FPSO.

GJ Cahill Ltd (2006)

OTS provided commissioning and start-up management personnel to GJ Cahill Limited for the Start Up and Commissioning of ExxonMobil’s Sable Compression Platform offshore Nova Scotia.

Aker Kvaerner Ltd (2005)

OTS recruited and employed professional, technical and trades persons for the Commissioning and Start Up of the Sea Rose FPSO for Husky Energy’s White Rose field located off the east coast of Newfoundland.
